1 - Take a practice test over 6.3 in Timemaps
2 - Take the 6.3 test.
3 - Check for your score about 15 minutes before class is over and update your grade sheet. 
4 - Save your grade sheet and upload to moodle.

2.      Select Menus on the left

3.      Scroll through the different design templates and choose the one that makes you happy

4.      Pick out your color scheme

5.      Decide what type of Restaurant you will have and what you will server.

6.      Add at least 5 pictures

7.      You must have at least 10 items.

8.      Use the clip art on your computer or the internet (if allowed) to get ideas of items and pricing.

Assignment # 4 “The Award Certificate”


1.       Launch MS Publisher

2.     Select the Award Certificate template

3.     Scroll through the different design templates and choose one you like.

4.   Pick out your color scheme

6.     Put in a famous person’s name who has received an award. 

7.     Add their reason for receiving the award

8.     Put in today’s date

9.     Add clipart or images to enhance your certificate

10.  Be creative and Unique

11.   Save your award as Publisher Award Certificate

2 - When ready, take the 7.3 test. (I will have the results about 45 minutes into class.)
3 - Create a Calendar for the Month of April in Publisher.  You must have 10 events and 5 pictures inserted.  (Google holidays to find special days that you can use.)  Save this to your user number.
4 - Upload your Business Card, Greeting Card, and Calendar to the moodle.
5 - Update your grade sheet with your test result.

2 - Desktop Publishing assignment sheet - #1 - Business Card and #2 Greeting Card - Save to your user number.  Alert me when you are finished so I can grade your work and give you points on the computer.

Desktop Publishing

Using Microsoft Publisher, complete the following two assignments.


Assignment One
“Here's My Card” Business Card
  1. Launch MS Publisher
  2. Select “Business Cards”
  3. Select a “Template” for your business cards
  4. Select some different color schemes.
  5. Decide whether you want your business card in –“Landscape” or “Portrait” mode.
  6. Decide whether or not you want a “Logo” placeholder.
  7. The next decision you have to make is how you want your card printed.
a)     In center of page
b)     Several tiled on a page
  1. Begin inserting information, design, etc…
Criteria (Must Include)
  1. Must add at least one piece of clip art.
  2. Make sure your name stands out and is a bigger font.
  3. Include an address (doesn’t have to be your real address), phone number, & email.
  4. Must a drop shadow to a font (highlight the text, right click, format font, add a shadow).
  5. Be creative & unique !!
  6. Save your business card as Publisher Business Card.  
Assignment Two
“The Greeting Card"- Publisher Card
  1. Launch MS Publisher
  2. Select “Greeting Cards”
  3. Select a “Template” for your Greeting Card
  4. Select some different color schemes.
  5. Decide which type of paper and / or fold that you want.
  6. Decide on a suggested verse or make your own later
  7. Begin inserting information, design, etc…
  8. Be creative & unique!!
  9. Save your greeting card as Publisher Greeting Card.

  1. Greeting- Could be for someone’s birthday, get well, or graduation (some of the ideas you could do)
  2. Image on the front of the card

  4. Image on the inside folds of the card
  5. Wording on the inside of the card
