NOTE: Create a custom paper size for this project (Page Setup, Custom, 8.5 x 5.5, and set to print one copy per page). Then, set layout/margin guides for the document to .5” all the way around.  
 
As part of your company’s special Christmas activities, you will be having photos with Santa.
 
The company is looking for something nice and fun to display the children’s photos with Santa. They want something that includes a photograph from the photo shoot, Christmas accents, and something that is suitable for sharing with friends and family (a text box they could sign, for example).
 
Additionally, include a 12 pt border in a custom Christmas pattern (use a rectangle Autoshape, RC and Format Autoshape, choose BorderArt, and then click Create Custom; you can select from the gallery or locate a graphic of your choice from the internet—save it, and select it for use).
 
Either fill in your card with light color or use a Christmas texture. See these websites page for downloadable textures you can use for a fill.

On the next activity, I will be checking your work in your student folder so I can see the formulas.  Make sure you use your sum key to do the totals in the totals rows and the functions to get the answers at the end.
 
3 - Activity 11.  Please type your name and student # in place of "Student Name."  You will omit lines 21-43.  After line 20, skip one line and then type the last 4 rows at the bottom of the page.

4 - (See Picture at bottom)  When putting in the Averages, Maximums, and Minimums in at the end, click where you want the answer to be and use the chevron to the right of the Sum button to find buttons to do these formulas for you.  Then, highlight the range that you want to average, MAX, or MIN and hit enter.

5 - Please notice that it instructs you to format the numbers in the last three rows to zero decimals.

2 - Using the Autoshape tools in Word, create a flyer welcoming Fox 6 news to our school for our game Friday night as we are the "Game of the Week."  Use different fonts and colors.  Use at least 10 different shapes.  Make this fun and creative.  When you are ready, I will grade from my desk so that I can see the different colors that you have used.  If you have put forth minimal or unacceptable time and effort, I will simply tell you to work some more before I grade it so make sure you don't try to rush and finish.

4 - Using a Letter template that you will find in new documents in Word, complete the letter p. 66 in your purple book.  Please enter today's date in place of the date listed and write it appropriately (September 17, 2013.)

***** Notice that this Letter talks about application documents which are enclosed.  Because of that, you have the word Enclosure a double space under the end of your letter.

*****Sometimes, templates will cause a big space to occur that will not delete.  I will show you how to change the line spacing if this occurs to fix this problem.

1 - Turn in all paperwork and fees.

2 - Make sure you have completed all Edmodo assignments (3 for Starnes.). If you are not happy with your grade, resubmit in the comment section and I will adjust your grade if correct. If you cannot figure out why you didn't get all your points, come ask.

3 - Start/Finish/Print the memo we started the last class.  The instructions from the last blog post are copied below.  If your paper is returned to you, pull up your work and make any corrections, resave, print, and turn in the basket.

Open Word - If you do not have an icon, click start, then all programs, then Microsoft Office, and then Word.  Go to pg 62 in your book and look at the Memo at the bottom of the page. Click the file button in the top left.  Click new and then pick memos.  Choose a memo style that you like and download it to your computer.    Use the information on p. 62 and fill in the memo template until all blanks are filled.  Make this memo from yourself and put your name in the appropriate places.   Read over it and make sure that is makes sense and has no empty places.  Save to your user number.




4- Pick up a worksheet and follow the link to the "College Bound" handout.  After reading about the two applicants, justify who you would pick on the worksheet.  Make sure your name is on your paper and turn in the basket.
